Surprise - Thermostat gone where?

Flushed the cooling system to install a temp sensor for my digi-tach, and to my surprise there was no thermostat  :o I remember when I still had the stock gauges on the bike it took forever to warm up. Now I know why.

I read the related posts here in the forum, and it seems like a stant #13758 will fit. Autozone has a 15758, which fits the same car (Geo Prizm) as the 13758. Heading over there now....

I'm aware of V gremlins, but this goes too far.  Making thermostats disappear, who knows where they'll strike next?
