Are the 82 front forks the same as the 83 ones?

This is a great site.  I found it while looking around for parts, etc.  I have a bunch of reading to do on past posts.  I have a set of 82 forks and wanted to know if they will fit my 83 vision?  If not, I'll have to rebuilt mine.  the upper end is rusted and pitted.  My bike sat for about 5 years,  I rode a friends bike the other day and got the bug again.

They will fit , but the '83's have dual disk brakes , you might be able to use just the 82  fork tubes, with the 83 sliders  and change the seals at the same time.
