Why are the front fork pinch bolts torqued down with the gap to the rear? I guessed it might be to insure evenly applied torque values across the four bolts and tube and it probably doesn't matter whether the gap is to the front or rear. Just a dumb thought that crossed my mind but I figured someone might know for sure. BDC
If you look closely, the rear part is actually slightly shorter than the front part. So if you torqued it down with the gap at the front, the faces wouldn't be aligned correctly and parallel.
