K&N filters for carbs

In the gallery there is a picture of a vision with filters on the carbs. not in filter air box..Has any one tried this and did you have to rejet? How about different carbs..
Still working on electrical problem..may have to get guy from motercycle shop to come over..shop almost across the street..

using an open filter causes & takes major rejetting.  Blake has an Air Flow meter, has radicly rejetted his carbs & says it's still not 100% (plus he made a custom exhaust)

Considering Yamaha had to further restrict the air flow with the air box modification kit (the flapper) it would not be wise to increase air flow to the carbs.

One would have to have very good testing equipment and a lot of luck to make it work over the typical broad range of operating conditions you run into during a riding season.  There is an old saying that applies real well with the Vision carbs, "If it works don't fix it."

Now, a nice K&N filter element would be great for the airbox. Not sure if anyone has gotten their hands on the filter material and fabricated a support mechanism for it.
