Muffler is titanium from a 2002-3 Yamaha R1, header pipe is a Mac item, modified
with 1 1/2in. mandrel bent 304 stainless steel tubing, rear cylinder ties into muffler inlet tube with some mandrel bent 90 degree tubing, lots of TIG welding, and a couple of stainless steel band clamps.

I still have to make it idle better and the welds on the Mac pipe need more finishing. Performance seems unaffected, weighs about 8-10 lbs less than stock, and it will never rust. Fuel consumption not yet measured.

The .mov file is over 7 megs, but if you really want to hear it at idle, take a look.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming HOOOOYA lets go again baby !!!!!!

Pretty slick work there Brian  ;).  It looks pretty nice and sounds good too!  Where did you get the stainless pipe and the stainliness clamps?

Brian_Matthewson

Stainless pipe from http://www.classictube.com/products_exhaust.asp in Rochester...I was able to buy last year when the Can $ was at par.
Clamps from http://www.clampsinc.com/torca%20series.htm ...the Torctite series.
I also used a 1 1/2 inch clamp from a source that can't recall..
