I used a NAPA brand oil filter this most recent oil change. Seems to work just fine- fit perfect and comes with the "O"ring. Best part the price- about half what Yamaha wants for it. NAPA # 4936

My dealer only charges $6 for an OEM filter. That is retail. What is the price for the NAPA?
looks aren't important, if she lets you play by your rules

I think I just got charged like 7.20 or so.  Last oil filter I got from AutoZone, and I think it was a K&N (did not want to buy a Fram piece of crap) but it was barely oversized, just like the one I pulled out of it from the previous owner, and gets crushed.  Wanted to try genuine Yamaha to see if it fits better.
Rider1>No wonder, the Daytona has very sharp steering and aggressive geometry.  It's a very difficult bike for a new rider.
Rider2>Well it has different geometry now.
