Shortening '82 bars

I have given up on getting a set of '83 bars. I have had many leads, but none have panned out. I have a spare set of '82 bars I can shorten. Does anyone have a length on the '83 bars from the top of the fork tube clamp to the top of the riser? If this doesn't work I will convert to regular tubular handlebars.

Measuring the shorter side, I read 3.5" from the top of the fork clamp to the top of the riser where the bar retaining pin goes in.

This junkyard has 2 V's with the short risers //www.sportwheel.com I could get them for you, but I don't know when or how much. You can try to go through them if you'd like.
