Great ride Sunday, Mike and his wife Teresa, he has a new Mean Streak and she has a 750 Shadow.
Before we left she told me she had been riding 30 years and  instructed me  in proper road etiquette, then asked me how long I had been riding and why I was riding such a small, old bike.  I answered " I hadn't been riding long and  rode that bike because I was scared of bigger bikes"
I remained polite for quite a few miles and putted along behind , eventually they stopped and asked if I would like to lead , so I said sure!
This was at the last 8 miles going into Oatman, the part with the hairpins and super twisties. Sorry, I couldn't hold back , I took off   and was soon at the top of Sitgreaves pass .I sat and waited  about 10 or 15 min. before they arrived . She informed me I was "f**king nuts"  I suggested that in mixed company, it should be "nucking futs"  At that point she released her grip on her husband  and allowed him to follow me the rest of the way into town .
It was a great ride , we went down through Fort Mohave  to the Colorado  River  and had lunch at one of the casinos. We bypassed the traffic in Bullhead  by using the Parkway , and that's where my oil filler cap (which I just  bought!!!)  flew off, only I didn't see  it and she didn't think it was important . When I get another new one, I'll put the dam thing on a chain.
We scooted back in hurry , up the 12% grade and long sweepers , on Hi way 68 , as they had a real estate  agent coming buy, to list the house (GOOD LUCK!!!!)
It was a great ride , lots of fun and perfect weather (77 deg.) we'll see if they want to ride with old "Nucking futs"  again.

Good chain yanker Rick!  ;D You're teasing us now with your 77o weather. The snow is starting the melt here, but it's still coming down too.

77 was down in Bullhead City on the Colorado River , 3000 feet below where I live . We've had 4 days of rain, but its starting  to improve again, today was 57 here, and  67 down at the river . Our temps are usually  a bit cooler that Vegas in the winter  and about 15 deg cooler than Phoenix year round

It snows here, about every 3 or 4 years. Last time it snowed , it started at 9:00 pm and was all melted by 11:00 the next morning. Great idea Huh ? Self removing snow, no plows , no salt , no falling on your ass after the January thaw.
Sat. I went up to the hualipie (pronounced walapie) mountains  in my old 4x4 blazer, with my son Bill and step grandsons.  we went up to about 7000 feet and followed an old mining road  through the snow,  to a level spot , where we could get out and let the kids and Freckles ,my  heeler, get out and  play in the snow.
Got hit by several snow balls  and watched the dog tunnel in the snow , lots of fun!! :D :D :D The nice part was to be able to drive down the mountains and loose the snow at 6000 ft.,  Great idea, keep your snow  in the mountains and visit it when you feel like it! ;D ;D

"January Thaw" - what are you talking about?  We don't get a good thaw in my neck of the woods until April.  And it isn't safe to ride until about early May, as it takes that much time for all the sand/calcium from the plow trucks to get off the road.

We got a January thaw every year in MN. The top layer of snow and ice , especially in parking lots that were poorly ploughed , would melt , then refreeze that night , resulting in a lumpy, treacherous layer of ice , that dropped me on my arse every year. I think ice crampons would have been a good investment.
We could get riding in April , usually , after the first decent rain had washed the roads.
Here , you can hit sand  at any time of year ,( and I have!!!) it will drop you  in a flash!

It snowed Sunday, in Kingman from about 6am  to 12:30 pm , didn't stick though. today its  back to 65 f.

33 DEGREES WITH SLEET AND RAIN MIX.  HIGH - LOW 40'S WITH RAIN MOST OF THE DAY!

That is what I have to look forward to for today's weather.  I second Inane's thought.

Yeah Rick me too.  And to boot you still fly the Canadian flag but are keeping your butt nice and toasty down there.

Todays weather -1C for the day but going down to -9C tonight.  I think the Easter Bunny will be laying frozen Easter Eggs this weekend....... ::)

It was about 62F here in No Colorado today.  I spent it all in the race shop tearing down the car.  It's getting a full teardown & reassembly with a fresh engine, blueprinted tranny, new brake calipers and refurbishing / renewing / replacing nearly everything.  The bodywork goes to the paint shop next week.  Sounds like the owner / driver wants to race in a Southwest series this year.  A race a month at places like Firebird, Buttonwillow, Laguna Seca, Infineon & a couple others that escape my mind at the moment.  Guess I'll be seeing lots of the SW US this summer!

Along with the warm temps, we have been having lots of wind.  Supposed to cool off over the next few days.

If you have an accident on a motorcycle, it's always your fault. Tough call, but it has to be that way. You're in the right, and dead -on a bike. The principle is not to have any accident. If you're involved in an an accident, it's because you did not anticipate. Then, by default, you failed.

We'll I'm retarded, excuse me retired, I studied many options, as to where to retire to. Phoenix is too expensive and  way too hot in the summer . Parts of CA. might do but , we really hate what it has become, (it was really neat in 1958 , probably even better in 1948)  and  everything is too expensive.  Also we need to be as close as possable to Linda's Childern,  as her health is not good and we wanted them to be able to Visit as often as possable.
Lost Wages NV is close, but way too expensive for us.
So we settled on Kingman,  lots  were very reasonable  (we paid 5500. for ours)  and codes allow you to put a moblehome on a lot. So here we are.
Why do I fly the Candian flag , after  living here for 50 years?  Because, it was not my idea to move to the states , it was my parents idea . So I'm getting even with the oldman , by the Canadian flag, he really would be pissed , suits me just fine!
