Its flat and straight around here, except for  Old 66, Oatman road. Which is pretty neat, but not enough for a whole day, so I was thinking about  a ride up to Prescott and maybe the old mining town of Jerome. We could ride the longest stretch of old 66  on the way up there. Lots of interesting scenery and twisty roads up that way.. We could headquarter in Kingman  or Prescott.

Rick,

The ride we took last time, but turn around after lunch and go back the same way we came?

Thanks Coil,  Yes that would work , but we would need a really early start , especially if we try to do Jerome too. Actually, anything would be better that battling the trucks on  US 40 . Maybe I'll do a reconnoiter and see how far Jerome is from Prescott.

Rick,
I just didn't like riding at 90 mph while y'all disappeared down the Interstate in front of me.

Howdy Rick G..
What if we spend Saturday night.. in that town at the bottom of the hill (from Jerome). (I think it's off the 17)... Then make the ride back the same route Sunday Morning to Kingman. I loved that route from Kingman to Prescott we took last time!

When are you thinking of doing this?
I'm interested..

Hi Coil,  we will have lots less interstate this time. I just hate the trucks  and wanted to get it over with. My choice would have been old 66 from Seligman in to Kingman. No trucks and a much nicer ride.

Hi Glenn,   I'm open , I got layed off  at Dunton Motorsports,  last July , so even though I'm broke , my time is my own. Probably the sooner the better  , its getting hot around here, although  Prescott being  over 6000 feet , is invariably cooler than Kingman

Hi Kwells , are you thinking of joining the first annual AZrov spring ride?   Lot of good riding in north central AZ.

I am thinking about doing the trip Rick.  I'd have to do a blitzkrieg trip in and out to limit any time off but I THINK I could swing it.  I just need to get an engine installed and I should be good to go.

3rd weekend of June and July are out for me...but could plan for other weekends.  I might be able to do a 3 day weekend but that's prob about it.

July and August are the Monsoon season here. Not only does it get hot (although its much nicer up at Prescott)   but it rains.   All dirt roads turn to a sea of mud,  and even paved roads are subject to  flash floods.   June is better, May even better yet. The best times to ride here are late March to early June  and late September to  early December.
