David, thank you for your kind welcome words. Did you ever return to Holland and visit it after you were very young? If not, perhaps a ride in a sidecar pulled by a Vision can tempt you to cross the ocean again?? By the way, in Holland you can have sidecar driving lessons. After those you can safely drive sidecars. My last motorcycle accident was when I learned driving a sidecar, long ago.
Coil, thank you for your thorough explanation of the problem. I think I start understanding something of the complicated background of this problem. There is pressure and it is a question of the extra pressure caused by different agents (resistance of the filter material; spring rate of relief valve) under different conditions (cold, warm oil).
Do you estimate that an oil flow directed straight towards the relief valve could open that relief valve, even if the filter has no great resistance, or do you think it makes small difference under the constant pressure conditions?
