I'm going to try and repack my mufflers to shut them up, any suggestions, tips, technique?

A few posts here and there on this forum about cutting the baffle in two and welding it so that there's a chicane in it. I think Lucky even posted a picture a short while back...

Lucky

this is easy to do, we did it to Glens:

--measure the distance between the end plates
--cut the stock baffle tubes out
--weld in new solid tubes 2/3 the length of the overall end plate measurement.
--flaten the tubes lightly, make sure the end plates are square to each other, & weld into place
--pack with your favorite packing (we used Stainless steel wool from McMaster-Carr)
--reinstall, enjoy a quieter ride
