Attached are scans of setup notes from a Yamaha Tech Rep. from 1984 when I worked at a Yamaha dealer. This was straight from the source to solve the stumbles that were a common complaint.
Thank you for the notes, what a find.
Please expound on the air bleed filter and what is does at 4.5k-5.0k rpm.
QBS, if you look at the fron't & rear carb tops, one of the air bleeds on the front carb is sealed with a brass ball (BB) where it is open on the rear. that passage is drilled & taps out to the filter. the reason for this is to avoid that main bleed for the front carb being affected by the operation of the flapper & associated pressure changes.
