Title: Removing your carbs may change the synq
Post by: Lucky on August 16, 2003, 07:38:58 AM
It just occured to me that in previous posts some of you have mentioned that to remove the carbs from the bike you often remove the fuel pump.  If you do this, be sure to remove the fuel pump only, & not the mounting bracket.

There are 3 brackets that join the 2 carbs togeter (some 82's only have 2) Since these three brackets keep the carbs in position in relation to each other, removing one even temporarily has the potential to change the synq.

That said, if you pull the fuel pump & bracket to install the carbs (after i've rebuilt them) you will need to resynq the carbs.  I will include instructions to that effect & installation procedures with future rebuilds.

Sometimes it is enough to remove the carb and install it once again, u can loose your sync. too. That occured to me twice...

SO.. whenever I take off my carbs.... I always re-sync.
