Title: Help Identify Missing Cover
Post by: kevin g on June 06, 2019, 10:36:22 PM
I am trying to sort out everything my bike needs and I find a piece listed as 'Cover' on the fiche for the frame.  It is held on with a wing screw.  The screw is there but no cover.  There is some other hardware in the diagram that looks to hold something.  Can anyone supply a photo of this area so I can see what is going on?

Assuming you mean item 14, it's a plastic air deflector.

Yes, sorry, it is 14.  What does the other hardware to the left of the wing screw attach to?

There's not much going on.  The "hardware" is a gromet, spacer, 2 washers and bolt.  They screw onto the engine (in the order shown), and the deflector can push on/off without unscrewing that side.  Just undo the wing nut and slide it out.

The plastic air deflector prevents the carburetor from overheating from the warm air coming off the radiator fan when it's running. I left mine off and learned it makes a difference when the bike is stationary and running warm.
