Title: All the lights on but not necessarily in the right order!
Post by: legacybrg on September 07, 2020, 12:15:22 PM
Bike electrics not being my forte, help needed. Neutral light on all the time, oil/ignition light off before starting then flashes on when the clutch is pulled-in to change gear! I've cleaned the contacts under the L/H crankcase cover and the connectors inside the headlamp shell. Any educated ideas?

This sounds like time to refer to a wiring diagram.  You DO have one, right?
It MAY be the NEUTRAL SWITCH is connected to the wrong wire.
Clutch 'lock out safety' switch too.

Probably need a Volt/Ohm meter to check how the electrons flow.

Yeah, sounds like those electrons are not where they should be.
You can find a wiring diagram in one of the service manuals for which there are links in Tech-Talk>Resources  http://ridersofvision.net/rovforum/index.php?topic=12221.0
You'll also need a multimeter which you may have, or get from a DIY store or online.

Another option would be to get an auto electrician or friend to look at it.

I'd probably start by looking for any wiring inside the headlight housing which seems to have been tampered with.

Good luck!
