Has anyone located replacement starter brushes 6x10mm? I rebuilt mine last month and found a 6.5x10 was available from my local shop, which I filed down. Cost me all of $5 and the seal.
One valuable hint I learned was the use of GOOP (automotive & black in color) to fill in the O-ring groove after assembly. Works really well and looks original. Just wipe of the excess wtih a rag before it dries.
I had to solder to the positive bolt but it worked out okay (so far). I can get a 6x9mm with the bolt and I wonder if that will work.
Has anyone tried some derivation of these available sizes?
Hope you can get a few things ironed out without too much expense!
Louie ;)
