Title: Gas tank dents
Post by: Jimmy C. on July 13, 2005, 01:05:31 PM
Has anyone ever paid a bodyshop to push tank dents from the inside-out? Is it possible?
I have a gas tank with a very nice...uh.."interior", and I think a junkyard tank would be in worse shape than mine.
Is it worth the effort? or do I risk buying a used tank?

NO BONDO.

Ususally what would happen in a case like this is they would take it down to bear metal and weld little rods onto the dent and pull it out.

I am not sure if they can get it perfect. It all depends if it has any creases in the dent.

The would then cut and grind off the remaing rod on the out side of the tank and paint.
