QBS, if you look on the bowl side of the accel pump, you'll see a vertical round casting with a brass plug at the top. the spring & ball check is under there.  if you open that up, you'll have to seal it well.  i took one apart on a junk carb, so that's how i know whats in there.  i believe the plug could be replaced with a set screw & sealer (tap the casting) because removing the plug would destroy it...

& the best non surgical way to clean it out is force carb cleaner thru its straw backwards (in the hole under the diaphram)  but i think you said ONE of your nozzles is working right?, so that's not the problem...  it's a hose or nozzle.

the last set of carbs I did had a crusty check ball under the accellerator pump diaphram and back flushing it did work...

QBS said neither nozzle sprays, so there's a good chance the backflush could work for him too....

OK, it looks like I've gathered all the input that's available.  Will first try aggresive chemical cleaning every which way I can and then, if that doesn't do the job, I'll go invasive.

BTW, snow is forecast for here (Houston) tomorrow.

Inane,
What's your altitude?

Up at the parents place, 9500 feet, down at my house 5500 or something.

I almost asked about his attitude when I read this post last night, but I deleted my comment rather than risk antagonizing him. Truthfully I rather enjoy his attitude, I think he would take on a buzz saw if he thought he was right.   BDC

I've been called cranky before but have no memories of being wrong.  BDC
