:) No idea...but no comebacks over five years..."The Mistress" included ;)
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming HOOOOYA lets go again baby !!!!!!

'82 Vision, Pearl Orange finish, lots of up-grades!!!

Today I opened up the bearings and found . . . .HEY!  THEY ARE ALREADY TAPERED BEARINGS HERE!  So I am pretty happy about that!

My stator checks out good but the R/R (both of them) are fried.  Visually the PC board trace on one TCI box is flaky and will have to be wired solid.  Not sure about any of the resistors, or diodes, or capacitors yet.  This is going to be a real project.  Spongy brake line, going to replace that soon, and the rusty tank thing, have to deal with that.  One foot in front of the other . . . .as long as the light at the end of the tunnel is NOT a train coming!

I had one test ride on a vision when they were new in '82, and got the XJ650RJ Seca instead.  Looking forward to the next ride on a vision, as it will be on one I made run.

I've purchased head race bearings and fork seals from Pyramid Parts and have been happy with their service.  Both of the head bearings came with rough spots and they replaced them immediately.  I asked them to open up the second set of bearings to verify that they turned true before shipment and they did.  Good people.

Any motorcycle shop that deals with Tucker Rocky can order tapered stem bearings. That set of bearings fits many different motorcycles.

Tucker Rocky are "ALL BALLS" brand...aka Chinese made and so would appear the other mentioned here.  Do  a search for "SUDCO"  they sell Japanese Head bearings and carbs parts.  But they only sell to their retailers. Lucky I have one by me. They are ~ $50 for the bearings. But you get a sure quality item.  AN FYI- if you have a new bearing that turns rough...then there is likely a bit of grit in there from the maufacturing. Which is unacceptable and should have never been sent out.

Or you dropped them on the ground installing them and never cleaned them off. (seen it happen)

this also would be a "grit" issue from dirt when dropped.  A "quality" bearing cannot be "damaged" from just being dropped.

unless you bent the cage, seen that happen too...
