I just wanted to thank everyone for all the help on here.

Tiger for the starter cables and plug wires.  Thanks for including some fuel line and vacuum hose too!  That came in handy.  I wasnt sure I needed the plug wires and boots, but thought Id save on shipping by getting both.  The new one had around 6k ohms, just what they were supposed to, and the old ones were in the order or 200k ohms and 2.3M (MILLION) ohms.  Its a wonder I was getting spark at all.

Lucky for all his time and knowledge of these bikes.  All the information and insights of many years of thoughtful contribution to the forum, was invaluable for a young man with a Vision of two wheels.

Re-Vision for the last piece of my puzzle.  The accelerator pump diaphragm worked like a champ.  I soaked it over night in some vinyl restorer, put it in, and the pilot jets now serve a purpose.  It was funny, I was talking to my woman before it came, and said, I hope he sent it, and just didn't let me know,  and it will be there waiting for me.   She said, I'm sure he did, that sounds like exactly what you would do.

Thank you all for this forum, and all the help getting me on the road.

So the reason for all this?  Well, I got everything back together Sunday night, and she jumped to life.  She was growling with a ferocity, that if heard by the previous owner, I may never have had the opportunity for this project.  I re-routed all the cables that were amiss, they had been driving me mad the little I was able to ride while working out the bugs, and I hope to be able to give her a once over, and hit the road later on today.

All she needs now is a name.  My buddy kept telling me I should do that first, but i told her she needed to earn it first.  I did my part with all your help, and now she seems ready to do hers.  Thanks again everyone.   -JM

I'm glad you worked out the bugs & solved the problems.  your not done, i think there's always more to do, but if we didn't enjoy the tinkering, we'd have something else...

the name will come on it's own :)

I did reply to the PM you sent me but I should have used the regular Email instead because every time I use ROV mail it gets lost in cyberspace.     BDC

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming HOOOOYA lets go again baby !!!!!!
