I finnaly got ahold of Ritzo tonight, I'd been trying to reach him all week, & then he called me.

I went over everything again, in detail, the history, of the problem, the steps we have taken, the frequency of failures and our frustration level.

we discussed the problem of heat, and I gave him the lowdown on my conversations with Rick G, both on & off the Forum. and what steps he is following.

I then asked him about the possability of heavy duty parts for our bike, and at that point learned they are in the process of working along those lines for RR-39, the same part that they make for our bike and a few others.

So this is where we stand as of now:
1) He asked for the wiring schematic for the bike, and i'm going to email that to him within the next 24 hours.
2)He needs oil temprature data on the bike.  Rick is taking care of this, so now I'm asking him to make it a priority (haven't talked to him yet)
3) he has asked me to send him a failed OEM stator & R/R. I have a R/R in front of me, I do not know if I have a stator, I have to check ( so if you have a bad one hanging around, don't toss it, I may need it)

also, if you live near their business, & would be willing to lend them your Vision for testing, please email me. this isn't a requested thing, but I have made the offer (if I can).  & I'll need to know details before you go over there. (what steps you've taken, IE: soldering terminals, moving R/R, cleaning all the connections, etc.

I'll keep you updated, thanks, --Lucky

Lucky and I spoke on the phone this evening  and I'll repeat what I told him.
I have the  material needed to build the  adaptor for the oil filter, I'll try to move my bike over to my daughters home, they have a two car garage (where we are going to start  repairing bikes)  and I'll be able to change my stator and  and modify the outer case to mount a  digital thermometer any time I want to. It was 81 deg. last week but its down to 23 deg at night, now  and their talking SNOW!!! But the good thing is, it dosen't last long here, so I'll start doing temprature testing as soon as I can!

Hope you guys can figure something out. This morning I put a CPU fan on the R/R (stock). Fired it up and checked everything out.

I was reading another article about R/R that had a voltage drop in the sensing wire, causing over charging. So I tried something. I soldered the brown and red wires together at the R/R output. I also used the brown wire to switch on the CPU fan. I was thinking the ignition switch, small wires and all those connectors was causing a voltage drop back to the R/R. I noticed that my voltage dropped 1 volt, to around 13, instead of 14. I also stuck my thermometer in the R/R and it got up to 132 degrees when I shut it off.

More experimenting... ? ?;D

DT I think your solution is bad.... RR fins won't give the geat to the small heatsink u had used...

it is better to provide air flow... so the best option would be to buy 80x80 mm DELTA system fan... they are damn strong and fast...

I think they produce enough flow to cool the fins on our RR... but anyway... changing position is the key.. Rick made a nice bracket near the water cooler... looks as if it was in its oem position....

I used a 4X4 in. (80X80 cm.) fan on mine, drilled 4 holes in the corners and mounted it about 1/2 in from the R/R, used long screws. I wanted it to allow air flow to the R/R even if the fan quits. I wired mine to the taillight.
