?i noticed today that my fuel filter kept coming up empty, thought it was low on fuel , switch to reserve, gassed her up, a whole 59 cents to the top. ?ran her for a while , then put on center stand , let her run about 10 minutes with a floor fan keeping her cool. the fuel filter is clear, so i could actually see the filter run in phases , full wet to bone dry , then full again . it finally cut off, and gave me the typical hard restart on hot engine. but i could see now that it had no fuel in lines. ?i dropped the lines, hooked up my catch jar, turned to normal position on petcock, applied a bit of vac to line, no fuel . turned to reserve, same thing no fuel , turned to free flow, still no fuel.
? ?i removed filler cap and tried all three again, fuel flows like kids on a snow day . all i could ask for and more.
? my question is related directly to filler cap , is it vented, or should it be? each time i rode after that today, i could open filler and hear air goin in, so am now lost,, how does the tank vent ?

The cap is vented, yours is plugged up. The cap cap can be disassembled to clean out the vent hole , you might want to enlarge it , just a tad. :D

That depends on where your ging to stick it...
You can actually prove this out pretty easily, if you can leave the cap loose, or just tape over the filler hole, leaving a small hole to suck air with (don't ruin your paint job) and run the bike around time for a while

Hey, if you can fix a KIA,  you can over haul a Vision gas cap. Take pics of the pieces as they come apart!

ok, proved the stopped up breather sort of easy, put cap in pocket, rode around all day, constantly looking under tank at every red light , never once lost fuel to filter,,, so guess will be dismembering the cap as i wiggle around the internet, answer mail , and post silly things in latin on my profiles

cap done , enlarged hole to about 1.5 ,, still did it . got home did the deja vous thing , doubled size of hole in cap , used some carb cleaner on the littel rattle valve,, problems now solved,,, works good, no leak and filter stayed full---- add another notch in rov forum pistol grips , another problem fixed and no greasy fingers .
