When these bikes were new it cost about $5.50 to fill the tank. now it's about $16.50 (Regular unleaded)
some other 1982 prices:

Cost of a new home:  $83,900.00 
Median Household Income:  $20,171.00 
Cost of a first-class stamp:  $0.20 
Cost of a dozen eggs:  $0.84 
Cost of a gallon of Milk:  $2.24

Yeah, I like to say I have a million dollar view.

It's the house next to mine.  No, my house is not worth a million.  The one next to me is a corner double lot, 2 story farmhouse that was built in the late 1800s.  The same family has owned it through the generations since at least 1920, if not earlier...

uh,, lucky,,, thanks for reminding most of us that we are no longer the ones saying"look at the old guy on the yammie-ha -ha ,,,, now we are the old guys on the darn things .


    my bonnie took 2.50 to fill up.. 1978 prices> about .80 per gallon then i think
keep your bike running,your beer cold ,and your passport handy.all are like money in the bank .
