Name's Doug, 24, born raised and still live in Urbana, IL, its 2 hours straight down I-57 from Chicago.

I recieved(earned?) my Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Eastern Illinois Univseristy which is another 30 minutes down I-57.  I still sorta want to go back and get a Master's but I wouldnt even know where to began anymore!

I am a PC Tech for the City of Urbana and moonlight as a mechanic for the U of I Motor Cycle Rider Program.

I have a girlfriend, no wife or kids, althought that wife thing may change sometime in the new 2 years, who knows.

The Vision is my first bike(as long as you don't count the 300+ bikes I service for the program  :P ) and I am still getting comfortable on it.  I got my M class about a month or so ago so I havent been riding for very long!

So far I have stripped and cleaned the carbs twice, removed the YICS, changed the oil and filter, am getting ready to replace fork seals, put a new brake pad on, bleed the brake, and change the rear end oil, and disable the rev limiter since its being.....stubborn
82 with fairing, rejetted, 83 turbo seca fork and brakes coming whenver I acquire the rest of the parts, and she stops breaking long enough to be in the garage for an upgrade instead of a repair.

Name David prefer Dave. Born early 1973 in Essex county New Jersey. Moved to Sussex county New Jersey not long after I was born. The summer before First Grade my dad was riding his Harley and a Chevy Nova veered into his lane and hit him head on. It changed our lives but dad is walking today. I got interested in aviation and joined the Civil Air Patrol. The family moved to Florida before my Sophmore year of high school. I got a job working at the airport across the street from the school. I learned how to work on aircraft and to skydive. Mom and Dad did not do as well in Florida as I did and we ended up moving back to New Jersey in my Junior year of high school. Back in New Jersey i got job after school working at another airport and I learned to fly in a Piper Cub which is a TAILWHEEL airplane and I still favor that type of aircraft. I had a small group of friends in high school and one of them was Patti. You may know her as Serendipity. She dated a friend when I knew her in high school but that changed. In 1991 I graduated High School got my Pilot's license and left for aircraft mechanic school all in the same week. I got my A&P certificate and AS degree at Spartan in Tulsa OK. I then got hired as a mechanic by the guys I worked with in Florida when I was in high school. It was fun for a while I got to fly the Jump plane some and had some great skydives but it was not going in a good direction. I left and went back to my parents home in New Jersey. I helped start a small maintenance shop and met back up with the now single Patti. Patti and I got married and the 40 airplanes based at that airport were not enough to support us. I got a job offer from a friend to move back to a different part of Florida and we went for it. I worked for that company for seven years then found the oppourtunity to run the aircraft maintenance facility for a university aviation program. I have been at my job for three years and I enjoy it very much. Patti and i have a son that is almost three. I now own the Piper Cub that I learned to fly in and I am in the process of restoring it.

Im sure Patti will add more when she gets a chance.

My motorcycle history is 1986 Suzuki 200 4 wheeler. in 1993 I had a HondaMatic 400 (1980 ish ??) 1994-1997 I had a 1978 Suzuki GS750 and now 3 Yamaha Visions.

Howdy all.  My name is Joe, I'm 33 and like long walks on the beach and eating paint chips.  Scratch that.  I was born in Chicago in 1972.  I moved to New Jersey at 6 months old.  My first bike was a z50 which was a pile of junk.  My second bike was a late 70's Yamaha MX125 which I bought in milk crates for 10 dollars.  I fixed it and rode it for a year until I dun blow it up.  My first street bike was a 1978 KL250 which I bought in 1994 (to date, the only bike that has left me stranded.)  My second bike was a KLR650 which I bought 6 months later because the KL250 wasn't so reliable.  I had that until 1998 when I bought my Ducati Monster.  In 2004 I bought my Triumph Sprint ST (great bike by the way) and last year received the XZ550RRM1 Rossi Edition.  I have a wife and 2 daughters and have recently taken up photography as a hobby.

Has anyone come up with a 12 step program yet to help the Visionaholics out there? :D

Well, we try setting up regional annual meetings, but the addicts keep showing up with their Visions... Kind of like showing up at an AA Meeting with a beer in your hand.

I guess they haven't recognized that they have a problem yet.

Yeah, I know that all to well.  Three Visions in my driveway made me forget about my "World Famous Burgers".  Had to resort to plan B...Let Vicki cook her (very good) burgers while I drool over the bikes and talk shop. :-)

I don't know what it is but ever since I got my V, I keep seeing all of these old bikes that are seeming to scream out to me to be ressurected.  The worst thing is that my wife said that one the garage is built and the V is running good I can start picking up "project bikes" to ressurect!  ;D  Now I know why I love her so much!!!

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming HOOOOYA lets go again baby !!!!!!

'82 Vision, Pearl Orange finish, lots of up-grades!!!

I have been looking through the "Uncle Henry's" (a local swap/sell/give away book that comes out each week) for Visions.  Haven't seen any yet.   :-X   :-X   :-X   :-X  I know, I am hopeless now.
