Ok sorry that I haven't posted here in awhile. I still don't have my Mamba home yet, but I am getting closer. The seller figured out that part of the problem was the battery. Now she starts up right away and has lots of energy!! Now to the question:
He drove her for about half a mile and then she stalled out. He stopped, waited a few minutes and then she started up again and went about another half a mile. He says that the floats are empty. Basically as I understand it (newbie here) She is not getting fuel fast enough. It refills but very slowly and only enough to go half a mile. Any suggestions on where the trouble could be? Anyone else have this problem? He is going to take the fuel line apart to see if jhe can find the problem but he asked if I could post here to see if anyone had any suggestions. Thanks you guys!! I am resigned to the fact that I won't get her home in time to ride her this year, but that gives me plenty of time to get to know her and how she works  by the spring!
-Heather and her little black b--ch, I mean Mamba. LOL!

It could be the fuel screen in the tank is clogged, rust?

Will it work with the Petcock on prime?  if so, check the floats & float needles, if are stuck in the full position, the carb would think it was full of gas when it was not.
A bad marrage is like dirty carbs... It just makes everything else suck.

Could be a clogged filter, if the bike has one or a kink in the lines?
shiny shiny....

Very likely problem & easy to diagnose:  The fuel cap has a small vent built into it.  if it is obstructed or clogged, you'll get symptoms exactly as you describe: fuel starvation.  simple test for itis when it stalls out, pull the cap off. you may or may not hear a "woosh" as air enters the tank.. set the petcock (is that a chauvanistic name or what!?) on "Prime" for a couple of minuets, then put the cap back on.  if it starts right up you've found the problem.  take the cap apart & inspect/clean the rubber gaskett inside.

I bet I nailed it!  ;D

Also, tell the seller to sign on here, we'll be happy to help him out, and won't think any the less of him for doing so, in fact, it's encouraged.
