From my back brake..... when applied.... it makes a noise....does this mean I need to change pads?....or are these bikes prone to making a sqealing noise?

taank

mine makes the same noise, shoes are ok though, i'm going to try and taking some emery cloth to the drum and to the back of the shoes.  it seems to work for cars ?!?

I get a little squealing in the morning when I fisrt start moving. I think it's my front brake though, and I know my back ones needs to be changed. Hm...... maybe it is my back brake squeakin.????
wow!

:) Its an easy fix...Remove the rear wheel, Pull out the brake drum and give everything a good wash out in brake and parts cleaner, (available at your local auto store(s)). Next, take a piece of emery cloth and take off the square edges of the brake shoe's, all around at approx' 45 Degree angle, clean the shoe face's a little, to take off the shiny finish, wash off with brake and parts cleaner and reinstall...byebye squeal... 8)...It works for the front brake pads also... ;)

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming HOOOOYA lets go again baby !!!!!!

'82 Vision, Pearl Orange finish, lots of up-grades!!!

Was thinking it was just brake dust but wanted to confirm........ Thanks Tiger

Just be careful to use only brake cleaner, nothing else!

If you have an accident on a motorcycle, it's always your fault. Tough call, but it has to be that way. You're in the right, and dead -on a bike. The principle is not to have any accident. If you're involved in an an accident, it's because you did not anticipate. Then, by default, you failed.
