So, a few people know that I do photography, and I fly.  I also do aerial photography, usually air to ground.  This weekend I think I managed my oddest photo yet...
In the upper left corner you can see the Cement Ship in Santa Cruz, the USS Palo Alto.

Clicking on the photo will get you to my collection...

Very nice tour , I really enjoyed the pics.  The first one confuses the eye , it almost looks as though your upside down.

I am.  That was taken half-way through during a 360 degree roll.

OK, That explains it!  Many years ago I flew with a friend who at the time , had an Air coupe. When I would point something out on the ground , he would roll the plane over, to get the lower wing out of the field of view, which always panicked me!  In my motorcyclist oriented mind , upside down is bad and to be feared.

Cool pix, Brian!

I enjoy the Red Bull Air Races - they're incredible on HDTV!  Those guys can pull over 9 Gs!!!  The 2007 season had one round in Monument Valley.  One plane managed to clip a rock formation.  Luckily, he lost only the aero cover for one of the wheels.  Exciting stuff.  I really like the inside the cockpit cameras they use.  Those guys work hard while on a run.

Speaking of cool flight, I may be headed to Florida in November with VIP tix to see the next shuttle launch on the 14th.  My cousin is retiring from NASA in early November and is treating his close family to the special tix.  The problem is that he's moving from Houston to the Dallas Ft. Worth area that same week so we may have to wait until February - the rescheduled mission to fix Hubble.  February in Florida would be a nice break from the long winter here, but if its November, I won't complain.   ;D

If you have an accident on a motorcycle, it's always your fault. Tough call, but it has to be that way. You're in the right, and dead -on a bike. The principle is not to have any accident. If you're involved in an an accident, it's because you did not anticipate. Then, by default, you failed.

Nice Brian, I just love seeing the ground from the air, especially love the closer view when taking off and landing. I'm really abit frustrated that the last time, oh perhaps three years ago now, my brother took me up in his Cessna 172 I got so darn air sick. Other wise I was really enjoying the ride and my brother (an ex KC-135 jockey) is a really good pilot.

My brother is currently building a homemade-I don't know the name, it will be a two seater, side by side, low wing and will easily outperform his old 1967 Cessna (if he ever finishes it!).
