Houston, we have a problem (melted airbox)

Howdy fellow Visionaries

I was finally able to get on of the toe visions up and running last Saturday.   It was a beatiful day to run out of gas >:(.  As I was riding I noticed a burning oil smell that never really went away.  I got home and couldn't see the source so I pulled off the tank and airbox.  When I pulled off the airbox I noticed that neither blowback hoses were connected to the bottom of the airbox, front or back.  I looked inside the airbox and noticed that the rear carb intake was full of dark oil but it was running fine.  Inside the box the following is melted:

rear carb intake rubber
inside hose that is connected to the rear oil blowback
front carb intake rubber at the top

I will say that prior to this issue the bike (Candy) had been sitting for a while and would start after some coaxing.  Wouldn't really idle until the ride Saturday.  I had added a double dose of Seafoam to the gas tank to help clean out the carbs and get her running smooth.  My plans went well until the melt down  :-X.  BLAST IT ALL!!!

I had to replace the front hose, and I think I was able to do that with fuel line.  The back hose was still good.  Though it might have been vacuum line.  There are quite a few hoses out there for the front that will work.

I have a couple carb rubbers that are in very good shape and an unmodified 82 airbox.  PM me if you are interested.

Thanks Brian and David for the replies.  I have an extra airbox and hoses and can do the repair easy enough. I am wondering if anyone has seen such a gremlin before.
