I've delayed this for a couple of years, but late last fall I decided to clean the carburetor for my RJ. I took it apart last fall and I'm just getting around to putting it back together. I purchased a couple of Keyster carb rebuild kits and there are a couple of pieces that I'm not able to find a home for. There's plenty of experts here so I'm hoping someone can help. In the pics in the url, you will see a rubber gasket and jet, not that they necessary go together. I'm wondering if I've missed something or perhaps it's an RK part.

here are the pics  http://www.flickr.com/photos/48363966@N05/?saved=1

one additional comment - if you click on the pic and then select the "all sized" button above it you can choose the highest resolution pic.

Thanks

If you don't have a use for the O rings send them to me!  I think there is a mis match of parts in the kit labeled as '82 that are actually for the '83.  Lucky will be better able to answer this point.

the jet is the #60 fuel pilot jet that is located behind a screw cover on the underside of either carb...

the o-ring goes on the end of the pilot screw ....  there's a "Lucky" ascii diagram of the spring and screw here somewhere.
should be: needle, spring, metal washer, rubber o-ring

if it ain't broke..... take it apart and find out why

Thanks Night Vision. This o-ring is actually smaller than the one that goes on the pilot screw.

As far as the #60 fuel pilot, I totally missed that. I had to pull out the magnifying glass to even see that there was size stamped on the side. Thanks!

Night Vision

hmmm, I don't remember an o-ring smaller than the one that goes behind the washer on the pilot screw

Nope, I take this back. Night Vision is right on both counts (I was thinking of the drain screw). It fits perfectly.

Double thanks

Night Vision, this on '82 carbs?  I just had 2 sets of '82 carbs apart and did not find such pilot jet.  What have I missed?  All available parts were opened, removed, etc. for soaking and air blast.

Parts I remember: accelerator nozzle w/ weight and ball
idle screw w/spring, washer, and o ring
air jet at top of carb (looks like main jet)
main jet behind plug (down on lower area)
other blunt "needle" screw with o ring (behind a plug)
                           emulsifier tube
                           float and float valve set
                           small venturi

but I don't remember any small jet like that one in the pic.  Must have missed something.

:) Fret...turn your carbs up-side-down on the bench...you will see, on each one, a hex head cap...remove one, peer inside and you will see what N_V is talking about mate. You need an exact size screwdriver to remove the jet!!!

it's not a hex, it's a slotted cap bolt over the pilot jet, then yes a small straight screwdtiver with a serated tip.

... and it's hard to see. I peered inside that hole more than 3 times before I noticed it was there. I wouldn't have noticed it hadn't NV told me explicitly that it was there.
