If you have an accident on a motorcycle, it's always your fault. Tough call, but it has to be that way. You're in the right, and dead -on a bike. The principle is not to have any accident. If you're involved in an an accident, it's because you did not anticipate. Then, by default, you failed.

looks like I will hit the rain head on, or some of it. Depends how solid this cold front coming is? Right now it's about 50 miles or so in width, heading towards detroit, etc. Maybe it will not be so active in the AM as I get closer Friday morning... WFO>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> baby

:) Day one...C_L & I got on the road for approx' 3 p.m. on Thursday.............407 Highway through to #7 and then some great roads across to Kenny & Dorothy, who are just north of Trenton, for for some beers and laughs, OH and a bed for the night ;) Thank you both so much for your hospitality. It was really great seeing you two again... 8)

Day two...10.30 a.m....We set out for breakfast on Friday morning with Kenny on his Vision (sadly Dorothy was at work!!)...Breakfast over and heart rate a pounding, off we set through Prince Edward County and some more great roads leading down to Picton and the free ferry to Kingston (Ontario)...through the city of Kingston, (at which point Kenny had to turn for home and work!!) and another free ferry over to Wolf Island. After a wee scoot around the island we were loaded on to the puddle hopper and landed in America at Cape Vincent. C_L had set the programme in to his GPS and away we went over some great roads that eventually led us to Night_Visions front door around 5 p.m. ('ish)...and the first beer of the day BEFORE I got off of "The Mistress"!!!...Out of the saddle, gear unloaded, including a Canadian twofour of beer and PARTY TIME, as the crew arrived...4 Canadians...Wolf on his R6, Art' on his Harley, Canadian_Lou & I on our Visions....5 Americans, Joe_Vacc & JasonM on there Visions and the 'family'... Night_Vision and his brother Jeff on Visions and N_V's son, Ryan, on an '05 Kawi' 750.
Lots of beer, single malt scotch, food, stories and laughter later, we all headed off to greet the sandman...good night all!!

Day three...After a great home cooked breakfast, thanks to Night_Visions better half...and some quick repair work to disable the right side brake caliper on "The Mistress", (thanks Jason) which had developed a seal leak...we set off around 8.30 ('ish), gassed up and away we went. Where you ask, I got no idea, I'm in America remember!! N_V did a magnificent job of putting this ride together, over some of the best roads I've ever been on since gettin my "V"...absolutely SUPERB 8) 8) 8)
We arrived back at N_V's around 6.30 p.m.!!!... after a superb riding day, in brilliant sunshine and sweltering temps......and all ready to party again!!!!!!!!! More beer, scotch, food, MORE stories and laughs... which also included a three way birthday celebration for Jeff, Ryan and me, to which Mrs N_V added a super birthday cake :o 8) Once again, a great night with a superb bunch of friends...

Day Four...All good things have to come to an end...but not until we had all had a great home cooked breakfast to set us all on our way. C_L and I set away at 8.30 a.m....headed out on to I90 and the Canadian Border at Buffalo N.Y...A 25 minute wait and we were back on Canadian soil...an hour or so later and home sweet home...I rolled up my drive way at 2.30 p.m. hot, thirsty, tiered but with a huge grin on my face and superb memories to share with my wife and you guys.

A massive thank you to Night_Vision and his wife for the weekends hospitality, to Night_Vision for the prep that went in to a great ride and to ALL the crew for some more great memories...See you all again soon :-\ 8)

Well done guys I am pleased you all had a great time.

Kenny

Great to hear that a fun time was had, I'm beginning to feel like this "Working" is cutting into my Riding playtime...
The ride back from Kingston was different: After I left you two at the Wolf Island Ferry things were going well until I crossed Hwy two, were I noticed a lot of truck/car traffic heading west. I made my way up to the Charbot lake overpass which the OPP (police) had blocked  off ,so going west at this point wasn't going to happen. The traffic in the west bound lane of the 401 was backed up for 5 miles. Apparently a vehicle running ilegal cigarettes had overturned on the highway after a high speed chase by "johnny law"  the highway was littered with cigarettes & his partner was badly injured. Thus the hwy blockage!
I decided I would go east to the Westport exit and work my way along the 401 detour routes which finally let me back onto the 401 at Napanee, I guess I arrived home about the same time you fella's made N/V's .
Seems as though a few of the good old boys are still alive...nice to get a bit of adventure in your visit. ;) ;)
Great to hear the ride home went well.

:) The brakes on "The Mistress" are now sorted...Last night I switched the calipers off of #21!!!... which I had rebuilt and put new pads in but hadn't hooked up (thankfully). Switched out, bled off and fully functional in less than an hour.

I'll rebuild the 'old' pair at the weekend, (if not sooner), and put those on #21...but don't tell my brother... ;) lol.

I forgot to take my camera to Syracuse ::)...is someone going to put pictures up...please :-\

NV showed us some new roads. That were far twistier than last time there. We missed all the possible rain. Had a great time 700+ miles in 2.5 days.

Ahh...finally time to look up a few posts.  Clearly I have been having a splendid riding season.  I want to thank NV and his exceptional spouse for orchestrating a marvelous time in New York.  This was a perfect weekend jaunt in every respect, lots of great riding, great friends and a great memory.  Kenny & Dorthy were perfect host & hostess to kick-start our venture (great to hang out with you both) and the only down side was we missed their riding company.

Oh and I highly recommend the Garmin GPS since Tiger saw mine flip off at 60 kmph and bounce several times down the pavement toward him.  Picked it up and it was still working... ??? I have since secured a tether to the aforementioned item as I won't tempt fate again.  It has been thrashed around for 1000's of kms now and the mount is not quite as tight as it used to be.

I have some pics but need the time to sort them out.  Let me know who is posting or collecting.

Until next time!  :)
