Has anyone successfully swapped in a more modern, sleek front foot peg/feeler setup?  Getting my brother's Vision together and the front left peg rubber is missing. The stock pegs have that giant rubber covering and I think it would look cool with some polished aluminum in that place.

On all my Vision rebuilds, I drill out the footrest pin that hold the footrests on to their brackets, (back and front foot rests). This is mainly for aesthetic purposes...(the pins rust). I can also have the front brackets sandblasted and repainted...(rear ones to, sometimes). I then use Universal Clevis pins, cut to the right length, when I reinstall the footrests to the brackets... 8)
Although I have never tried any different one, it would be easy to look at bikes in a wreckers yard and see which rests would fit on to Vision brackets.....Hmmmmm, interesting me thinks ;)

ps Oooops, I did change out the ones on 'The Mistress' for a set of off a Yamaha Venture... ;)
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming HOOOOYA lets go again baby !!!!!!

'82 Vision, Pearl Orange finish, lots of up-grades!!!

I have a stock set from a 95 zx11 that I think I might try to retrofit.  Pictures to come.

The Prophet of Doom

Japanese Model XZ400 and 550s had a much sexier footpegs, Aluminium/rubber in the front, pure aluminium for the passenger.
These would be fairly rare in the USA though.  Tou could always try these rearsets from Raask in Sweden made for the XZ550.  Probably horribly expensive.

If I recall correctly, the pegs from a KZ550 bolt right on.

I have been looking for a new set for both the front and rear.

Extent

It's quite simple to mount new rearsets with just a piece of flat stock and some custom spacers.  I put rearsets from an 01 gixxer 750 on mine sometime in 06 I think it was.

Rider1>No wonder, the Daytona has very sharp steering and aggressive geometry.  It's a very difficult bike for a new rider.
Rider2>Well it has different geometry now.
