Ah, had a nice ride today, first went to Fort Calhoun (NE) at the members home where my VJMC group has a member letting us use his garage for the Honda 400F we are rebuilding, I sure hope they can get it together again, saw the frame, it is all nicely powder coated, boy was it nice. Only one other person showed up and we couldn't find parts, so no work got done on it. So, had time to kill before our Sunday evening meeting, visited my brother in the western part of Omaha, had a nice chat, went to the meeting later in southern Omaha, ah, not very many bikes there, our group is sort of down anymore, not like it was when I first joined them. Then home, put on about 85 miles, happy to say the Vision ran-well, like it should run, very nice, excellent power, no problems. It sure was a hot ride today however with temps in the mid 90's.

I live as the crow flys perhaps 2 miles West of the Missouri river, the waters are generally considered over flood stage by a foot or two over the whole area. I will not personally get hit, I live about 300 feet up in the hills, but there are areas in the bottom lands that are starting to look like large lakes, the word is that this is only the start of the flooding, I don't think they really know how much higher the river will go, will it go a foot, will it go 5,6,7 feet???  There already are people having to leave homes, some not so much that their homes have flooded yet but the roads to their homes are flooding. Seems like it wasn't that many years ago the reservoirs where half empty. Large areas are sure going to be a mess if that river goes up many more feet and they say it's not like it will just crest and immediately drop down. Well, watch the news and make a prayer for the people who will be directly affected. Ummm, I'll bet the mosquitoes going to be hell this summer!

I live close to Hamburg Iowa and spent my birthday on Saturday moving out a storage area of mine to higher ground. They said the water in town will be eight feet deep in the firehouse when the flood hits. It's supposed to last up to 2 months! It's like a slow motion disaster.
Stay dry Don!!

I really do need to meet you someday!!  I wonder if the flood will eventually close I-29 in your area. Lot of activety in Blair as some of the businesses are trying to save things. AND you're right when they sort of say we don't really know what is coming yet!!!
