Balance has been dynamically verified multiple times. Looks like the Shinko 705's have a good number of complaints out there for them being out of round. I could see tire moving up and down. Will probably get a new one and try to take back this one.

Can you tell from just looking at the tire prior to mounting if it will be viable? Why not invest in a good quality tire rather than continuing with a brand/model tire that is suspect? Seems like a false sense of economy given the aggravation alone. I know they bought some tread designs and molds from Yokohama but it seems they're suffering some growing pains on their way to providing consistent quality. Just a thought...   :)

The tire does exactly what I need it to do. It is doubtful that every tire they make is out of round. If they'll take it back I could care less about the effort in yanking a front tire. I have my own machines so there is no expense.

I know that you've looked into steering head bearing loading.  However, what you are complaining about still sounds like too tight steering head bearings.  As a test back off the bearing load a bit and see if the wobble doesn't improve.  With the bike on center stand and with the front wheel off the ground, there should be zero resistance to lock to lock travel of the handle bars.  Just the slightest amount of input from just one finger is all it should take to move the bars from side to side when starting from the center/staight ahead position.

I've bought 4 Shinkos  and one was heavy on one side the others were fine . The problems  seen to be with the 705, Mine was a  130 90 17  The one preceding was a 130 90 17  but a differant model .

Over tightened head bearings won't cause speed wobble but will cause zig zagging. I'm pretty sure my issues aren't from head bearings but were exaggerated by having loose bearings. A not round tire will never roll like a round one.

Sorry about not replying, but I've been very busy latley, and since my engine blew I've been riding on another engine and frame with all my stuff on it, but it's been parked for the winter due to me having to do the starter clutch bolts on this engine (doing them this week) so I haven't been able to get this new bike up to speed and see if it was the frame or not... I'll report back when I find out!
