Hey,

It?s the guy with the Vision that wouldn?t start when warmed. I replaced the spark plugs, and looked into the air box situation. I tried starting it after it warmed and it wouldn?t. So I remembered what one of you said and opened the throttle and it started after a crank or two. So what could be causing this flooding condition? If I could figure this out, I?d be a happy man.

you can check the float height while it is running by replacing the drain bowl lines with clear tubing and opeing up the float bowl drain screws.  The fuel in the tube will equalize with the level in the carbs.  Also make sure the acclerator pump isnt constanly being applied.  The linkage to it is adjustable on my 82 carbs.  Check for fuel being sucked in through the vacuum line from the petcock.  Were the plugs fouled?   Fuel fouled usually means they are very clean looking and usually white.  Proper mixture would make a tan plug.  A black sooty plug means a rich mixture but they aren't fouled.

What kind of gas are you running.  A couple of years ago I got into a situation where a number of the local stations were pumping the 10% alcohol gas and the viscosity difference would make mine flood out and overflow the carbs (boy it was scary leaving a trail of gas behind the bike).
