Hi!

Few month ago i bought `83 vision. It hasn`t been maintained very well and there are several problems what i haven`t figured out jet.
It start up quite well and usually there is no problem while driveing, but sometimes it suddenly die out when changeing gear down as well the lights go out, so there are no electricity; but usually if i release the clutch it start up again.

My question is:
is it about bad connections - i found melted headlights fuse whitch i replaced - or is it leading into something worse?
After replaceing the fuse i havent had any problem, but i haven`t driven much after that to be sure -  it was haphazard - and i think it was rather result than cause.
And there are made some minor changes before i got it - all the lights are changed, so there might be wrong voltage (i have to check), does it take that strong efect?

As i`m new here, couple of words to introduce myself.
We bouth are same old - 21 years, and this is first my own bike. I made my first ride when i was five years old with an enduro-like motorcycle that my father built, i shared it with my brothers. For last three years i have driven occasionally, although my friend gave my free hands to use his bikes.
The particular Vision i own is bought three years ago form Germany in original condition, then sold twice until i bought it - so i am at least fourth owner and also only Visionary in this country as much as i know.

Hi Corwin ,welcome to the forum, where are you writing from?
You may have a tired fuse holder , this is a common problem on late 70's and early 80's Yamahas . You can try to clean the contacts that hold the fuses, with  the erasier on the end of a pencil. usually the contacts bresk off , in which case replace the whole assembly  with a suitable automotive one
