I have the V posted for sale online but i have it high enought to where I know the person buying it will finish it and keep and enjoy it.

But at the same time I really dont want to sell but I have been through my carbs so many times that I really dont want to do it again.

Would anybody be willing to take my carbs and go thourhg them ....this will be the 4th or 5th time now and check everything out and tune them on your bike.
Willing to pay somebody to do this.

They have been rebuild but it just seems that I cannot get something right.

So from this if I can get them working properly  I will know if I have other problems.
I wouldnt mind selling it, I can always get anohter one later but at the same time im not giving mine away.

Anybody up to it?

Thats probably the best way to go. The guy I bought my 83 V from said he had just rebuilt the carbs himself... yet, the bike still ran like crap. I sent mine off to rick and lucky. Between the 2 of them I now have a brand new looking and properly rebuilt set of carbs. I got em on and need to do some more troubleshooting to get the bike to run. I think I'm close!  :)

Lucky, when looking at this pic... the short curved gas line attaches to the top fitting on the petcock, the straight gas line coming from the "T" goes to the upswept fitting on the right side of the fuel pump and the main line from the tank goes up between the carbs and attaches to the straight (not upswept) left side fitting on the fuel pump right?

Also, the smaller vacuum line fitting on the petcock gets connected to the front carb boots smaller fitting? The front carb boot has 2 fittings (the larger fitting connects to the bottom of the fuel pump) and the rear carb boot has 1 fitting which connects to the underside of the "thingy" on the rear carb.

The vacuum line with the metal connector that's attached to the top of the front carb attaches to the flapper in the air box.

All those connections sound right?

I should have taken pics of everything before taking it apart then I wouldn't have to ask these dumb questions! The service manual doesn't show me what I need to know.

Sounds like a plan to me.

I looked lucky and I could not find a PM from you.

Don, 100% correct, to verify fuel in the bowls, loosen the bowl drain screws: phillips head screws next to the brass hex bolts on the left side of the carbs (as you sit on bike) fuel will drain out the plastic overflow lines.

the pink replacement line rick used to join the accelerator pumps is clear enough to see if fuel is moving (hopefully). you can also remove this line & twist the throttle to see if fuel comes out the line.  the strange part is it worked fine for me..

also, try lengthening the accelerator rod length (aluminum collar on the accel linkage. it might somehow have twisted itself shorter (it's threaded) stranger things have happened.)

Cracker, i haven't sent it yet, parents are visiting & i need to find some quiet time, lol
