If you have an accident on a motorcycle, it's always your fault. Tough call, but it has to be that way. You're in the right, and dead -on a bike. The principle is not to have any accident. If you're involved in an an accident, it's because you did not anticipate. Then, by default, you failed.

You can wheelie on your vision??

first, night vision, see tiger for a set of forks, replace them both for safety's sake.

all motorcycles will do wheelies , it is a matter of how it is done, and total condition of the bike.

now, for those that didnt know a vision would wheelie- dont run out and try it, after all , it is 25 years old now, and that can and or will ruin your bike. there are too many variables in the landing for a vision to take that kind of abuse more than a few times before it will fight back.

keep your bike running, your beer cold ,and your passport handy.all are like money in the bank .

Lucky

i wheelied on my V a few times. the first was by mistake, i was setting up carbs i had rebuilt, took the bike down the street, turned around, slammed the throttle & the clutch slipped out of my fingers...up came the front end! i had the presence of mind not to pound on the rear brake, but she still came down harder than i would have liked..

i've tried it a time or two since, but have decided that it's too hard on the fairing, & I HATE doing body work!!  ::)

NV,
What did you torque the pinch bolt to the last time you mounted the axel?

Are there any chisel marks on the edges of the bolt hole tabs that would indicate that they had been spread apart in the past?
???

Night Vision

I/We did not torque it down. we were taking the front wheel off when the part came apart. kinda hard to say if it had been spread or how long it had been that way.
