This may have been posted somewhere before, but ran across it today and enjoyed reading it again.

You've got to read Mr. Thrifty if you really want to be rolling on the floor.  Read it out loud to a few friends and see how hard it is to keep a straight face.  For anyone from the old days of motorcyles this rings home.

I love the part about the V being good for the "occasional weekend road trip".  "Weekend" indeed!  My last road trip lasted two and a half weeks and 5000 miles.

That's the funny part about "bike-testing," you really can't get a proper impression without spending some serious time on a bike. You can tell if everything works, but you rarely become acquainted with the real character of a motorcycle.  Only a long term test gives a fair idea of what a motorcycle becomes to the rider after a few thousand clicks.

I think it's fair to say that the Vision becomes quite addictive if you hang around on it for a while.  As long as someone does not experience major mechanical issues, it quickly becomes a keeper.  Most people only sell a Vision because of financial or maybe storage issues. I kept mine even when I bought my 85 Venture Royale.

I wish !! No one I know has ever actually seen a set.  The only ones are the "swastika" we all have.

So maybe the spoked wheel on the front of my vision was the original and not some crazed mod?

Superfly has a set of the spoked wheels.

I'd really like a pic of  that bike!  Maintenance wise there a  pain, but I think they look neat.
I have a 70 CB 750  here , with a 16 inch drop centre rear wheel , and the spokes are starting to give out . The lad who owns it , doesn't want to fund a new set of spokes and  my labour , to lace  and true it . We ended up  putting a CB650 comstar rear wheel on it . Not so good looking but, the spokes won't break.
