A bit more of a hunt (I am avoiding my books) shows the same part listed for the XT225 right up to 2007, you should be able to get one from a dealer

I found a generic cap at autozone that fits. In the morning I will grab the part number and get it posted.

Have you had a chance to find the parts number.  I went the other day and they said they didn't have anything that would work.
