Who knows what the little holes with the rubber plugs in them in the lower front nose of the upper full fairing are for?

HINT: I discovered today when I pulled into my dark storage area where a I park the bike and realized I was still in the dark...

Lucky

Your supposed to be able to pull the plugs and remove the 2 screws holding the headlight bezel on...I've never tried it, I just pull the fairing.  more work, but i can usually come up with a secondary reason to be in there..

We have a winner (as if Lucky would not know that).

Pull the plugs
Remove the dash panel bolts but you can leave teh panel in
Reach down past the dash panel and guide a phillips head screw driver inserted through teh holes on each side and remove the headlight retaining screws
Pull headlight, unplug, change bulb.

Works slicker than you know what.  But now I am down to only 1 spare bulb :'(

Lucky

The dash is the reason I pull the whole upper, with all the guages & meters I have in there, and the nylon line for the oil guage, I can't move the dash around.

I'm sorry, I didn't realise this was a contest, I though you really didn't know what they were for...  next time i'll leave it for the newbies..

Ok, I have one (tougher) for you:

Name the cooling system related safety item that is different between 82 & 83.

OOH - OOH - OOH - Mr. Kotter, Mr. Kotter!

I think I've got it but I'll let others guess and will admit if I am wrong.  For now, I'm shrouded in the cone of silence!
If you have an accident on a motorcycle, it's always your fault. Tough call, but it has to be that way. You're in the right, and dead -on a bike. The principle is not to have any accident. If you're involved in an an accident, it's because you did not anticipate. Then, by default, you failed.

I don't know.  But if I had to guess, and having no way to actually look it up, I say the radiator fan comes on at a lower temperature? (I know I wish mine did )

nope, that's not it Wolfman, but I'll let you take some time to reflect on H20's reply & guess again

H, I got both campy '70's sitcom referances, Welcome back Kotter & Get Smart :)

Congrats, Lucky.  The first was easy - the second a bit more obscure.  Must be a child of the '60s!  8)
