The place:

Maine Cycle
Used Parts Warehouse
Adams Street
Auburn, ME 04210
(207) 777-5279

The finds:

2 Pristine 82' seats ?$50 each
Calipers: ?$40 each
Forks:$100 each (Polished or black)
3! Complete CHROME exhausts ?$150 each
1 Complete black exhaust $150 (Sorry NO MAC Exhausts)
Set back foot pegs $30
Instrument cluster $160

The list goes on and on. ?I needed (could afford) nothing at this point so I bought nothing. ?The place is incredible. ?I meant to spend and hour and spent nearly three. (They gave me the run of the place, unescorted or even watched..imagine a building 75 yards long, 40 yards wide and THREE STORIES TALL filled with used bike parts and parts bikes fairly organised but not too library like) ? I found boxes and boxes of petcocks (including 3 82's) OEM stators, calipers, wheels etc.. ?His pricing is somewhat strange, like $5 for ANY cable, $10 for ANY brake line etc.. Specific parts are basically he looks up what the part was new when it was still available and divides by 1/2. ?He will negociate with a local, over the phone, who knows. ?Great place run by good people who have probably every part for ANY Japanese motorcycle built in the 70's-UP. ?Tons of 80's bikes. ?Not alot of Visions, but the parts he has are worth what you pay for. ?For instance if I were to purchase an exhaust system I would get the COMPLETE exhaust system (Pipes, flanges, even the freaking BOLTS if I wanted them and asked) ?Keep in mind if there is something you need and are not in a great hurry, I will stop in and inspect it for you if need be when I can find the time. ?If I purchase it however, I will have to pay 5% Maine sales tax and you pay shipping.... ?Give them a call or PM me for something specific or if they have no idea what you are talking about if you call. (Keep in mind I KNOW what the part LOOKS like, they may not as the Vision was only around for two years...) ?I can remember seeing way more stuff than I listed. (Sorry NO fairings, but he DOES have 3 front fenders of various colors AND a SECA rear end (2) including 1 WITH saddlebag mounts (I did not look for the bags...)

OH, and for those who are following the saga and care..YES they FOUND my wedding ring when they were cleaning up Friday after I was there and handed it to me today (Wednesday) when I showed up. ?They had put it up high on a shelf behind the counter....hows that for HONEST!? ?My wife will now allow me to continue living!

Walt_M.

Wolfman, you are living dangerously, first, you pay $600 for a fairing, now you lose your wedding ring! But seriously, sounds like a great place. My wife and I are planning a trip to N.E. this fall (not by motorcycle unfortunately, will be travelling with sister and brother-in-law, good people but not into bikes) and might try to locate this.

They didn't happen to have an extra set of nut rings (not thos nuts giggles) I need for the front stock exhaust?  I would appreciate it if you could check.  These are the pieces that hold the exhaust onto the cylinder.  I'm striking out looking for these parts, no one in the swap shop or any shop close to me doen't have it.

Thanks
Ken
