Keeping the engine shiny

Ok, so I bought a nearly brand new Vision and being that this is my 3rd one I've had I'm wondering about protecting my engine finish.  I know the aluminum has a clearcoat that eventually flakes off and the metal gets oxidized.  Is there something we could use to keep these engines protected and shiny?

After the clear flaked off, I used rubbing compound to smooth and polish. The metal then oxidizes fairly uniformly, doesn't look too bad.

Autosol metal polish works like a charm.

If you've still got most of the clear on and it's just yellowing then take some paint stripper to it, it'll be a lot easier to strip the clear than it will be to take rubbing compound to it once it gets nasty.  I've stripped part of my engine and it looks beautiful and shiny once you remove the yellowing clear.  The parts where the clear had already come off and had started to corrode are going to take me a lot more work to clean up.
Rider1>No wonder, the Daytona has very sharp steering and aggressive geometry.  It's a very difficult bike for a new rider.
Rider2>Well it has different geometry now.
