Ok, so I cleaned my carbs, they work a lot better, but I'm having issues getting them tuned in. I want to make sure I have the right idea behind the procedure.
First the adjustments, as far as I can tell there are four main types (not including different jets)
a) The idle mixture screw on each carb
b) The throttle stop screw that controls both carbs
c) Float height adjustable by bending that tab on the float bowls
d) The synchronization between the carbs
(am I ok so far?)
Now to adjust the carbs.
1) Check and adjust if needed the float level
2) Turn the idle mixture screws out three turns from snug
3) Adjust the synchronization of the carbs using a manometer or other device.
4) Use the throttle stop screw to adjust the carbs to 1300 rpm and to make sure the butterfly valves don't hit the edge of the carb
5) Use the idle mixture screw till maximum idle is achieved, possibly pull a plug and do one cylinder at a time.
Go riding?
How does this sound?

Thanks

DON'T BOTHER PULLING A PLUG

SET YOUR FLOATS 2MM LOWER THAN SPEC. SOME OF THE OVERFLOW TUBES WERE SET IN LOW, I'VE HAD CARBS OVERFLOW WHEN EVERYTHING ELSE IS RIGHT.

ADJUST SYNQ, PILOTS & IDLE IN CONCERT.  ADJUSTING ONE AFFECTS THE OTHER 2
SO:
--ADJUST SYNQ FIRST (REMOVE & CAP OFF THE YICS FIRST) (ADJUST IDLE AS NEEDED)
--THEN ADJUST PILOTS TO WHERE THE BIKE RUNS THE BEST (ADJUST IDLE AS NEEDED)
--RECHECK & ADJUST SYNQ & PILOTS.  WHEN DONE TURN PILOTS OUT AN ADDITIONAL 1/8 TURN (SLIGHTLY RICH KEEPS VALVES COOLER)

--TEST RIDE, IF SHE STUMBLES TURN PILOTS OUT ANOTHER 1/8 TURN & DOUBLE CHECK ACCLERATOR PUMP ROD LENGTH & NOZZLE AIM.

--SORRY 'BOUT THE CAPS, I'M AT WORK, THEY'R LOCKED ON ON THEIS TERMINAL...

--LUCKY
