A note about Ethanol in Gasoline.

My 2 cents. Ethanol is great........... if your engine was designed with it in mind. Ethanol has an AKI of 116 for comparison preimim gas in the US has an AKI of 93. That means you can squeeze ethanol a lot more in the cylinders before you get pre-detonation. If I could build an engine to run on ethanol and only ethanol I would be pushing the compression ratio as high as it would go or boost it though the roof it would probably end up in the neigborhood of 12:1 or 14:1 or the boosted equivelent. Now my Vision, F4i and Chevy 1500 were not designed with ethanol in mind so I do not like to run it in them but I can not get away from it here in the valley of the Sun. Now when I hit the open road in the Chevy or the F4i (Vision is almost done) I have noticed when I get to stations that do not run blended gas I do get better gas mileage for that tank.

Storage though got to agree with lucky drain the tank, drain the tank, drain the tank.
