So here is my problem, I bought a 83 vision about 3-4 years ago from ebay, the guy said it runs but thinks it needs a battery. so being young and wanting a bike so bad i could taste it. so it came home without a title. After getting a title for it and getting it running and carbs tuned up i started riding it and constantly trying to figure out why it wasn't charging. I used tons of the info on here and other sites to pinpoint that it was either the stator or regulator. being mechanically inclined i decided it was easier to try to change the regulator before tearing into for a stator. since i am married and cant afford to fix it up anymore and have another bike to ride so now it sets with carbs removed, stator removed and ready for a new one to go in and some carbs cleaned up and it would run, I rebuilt the starter when i first bought it also. i am willing to part with this thing for a couple hundred dollars i have no way to ship it. i can add pictures or send them it does not have the lower fairings it has uppers and everything else is in good working order i have a extra set of carbs i believe off a 82 um fuel tank has a dent but no rust of my knowledge and cant see any either. has original paint and gold color stripes would be a good winter project for someone dieing for a unit to get going. So with all the spelling errors and stuff im looking to clear some garage space and just get some cash for the wallet. will come with title and key. Price 200$ Location Bolivar, Missouri Very motivated to get rid of and if no one wants it or wants parts it will go to a crusher. you can email me at polkcocert@gmail.com or i can send you my phone number to call for more details if you need them and pictures. Thanks for your time Robert Dickson

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming HOOOOYA lets go again baby !!!!!!
'82 Vision, Pearl Orange finish, lots of up-grades!!!

Send a picture of what you have, I need more 83 parts and your price seems reasonable. I'm on vacation and E-mailing is very iffy. Bobbydcrabb1@yahoo.comLeaving Arizona headed east. BDC

Just a bit far for me to travel right now, too, but looks like a smokin' deal! $200 for an 83 that could be made road worthy in fairly short order is awesome. Mayhaps someone in TN can rescue it?

If you have an accident on a motorcycle, it's always your fault. Tough call, but it has to be that way. You're in the right, and dead -on a bike. The principle is not to have any accident. If you're involved in an an accident, it's because you did not anticipate. Then, by default, you failed.

Talked to my friend Erick. Rons bike is too far away but he told me he was going to read this thread tonight and give it some thought. David

At that price it would be worth shipping to the South Pacific. If only I weren't totally broke

Rick, I went through Flagstaff earlier this week and was tempted to go and visit you in Kingman. The heat and tiredness sent me back into the mountains. BDC

After getting the bike home I was surprised that the well worn rear tire is a Dunlop 120/90 Sport Radial. Thought that radials were a no-no. BDC

Rick, radials are the 'new thing' for GP road racing and quite common now for sport tires. Don't mix redials and bias ply.

Some times ,Radials don't work well on bikes not designed for them.
Sorry it worked out that way, maybe next time!

I suspect that 120/90 Dunlop is not a radial but a Sport Elite. They had an angled tread that made them look like modern radials. I had one and there is one on the bike that Lucky is getting. They were good tires, I got over 7K miles on mine but they are no longer made.

Yikes! I'll bet that was one squirrelly handling bike. On our narrow rims, with that tall aspect ratio, it would be like trying to ride a snake on a griddle.
