On a group ride this weekend one of my brothers stated that under certain conditions he could see smoke coming from one of my mufflers. Indy1k stated in his can't sync carbs thread that "it runs great except for a little sputtering from the right pipe".

Is the collector box split internally in such a way that the front exhaust goes to one muffler and the rear to the other? If so, it would make for a usefull tool in diagnosing certain problems.

So much for that idea.
So why only one pipe then???One thing though. I have some rust thru on my right muffler. Maybe that's my problem.
But it doesnt explain puffs of smoke from only one pipe.

Exactly, that would be too easy.

I always get more smoke out of the right muffler.  I always put it down to valve adjustment, which I haven't done yet..
