Electric race bike
« on: January 13, 2011, 04:32:47 PM »
Interesting write-up and video on how an electric racebike did on its first outing competing against gasoline powered bikes in the California WERA series this last weekend.  158 miles per hour and a podium!!  This technology is coming along faster than I thought it would.  Maybe the next Vision will be battery powered.

These guys won the Isle of Mann Electric GP race last year. Averaged about 100 miles per hour for 28 miles.
Built right here in Portland Oregon.

That's amazing video. When he's all alone, all you can hear is the eerie whine of the electric motor spooling up. At 2:38 he wheelstands under acceleration for added thrills. Cool!
