I thought for sure someone would ask how I got that rpm at least.  I guess you all assume I'm full of it anyhow.  Well, maybe I am, but I have use of an rpm meter, put a little reflector on one of the teeth and it tells rpm.  I remember hearing with regard to elevator motors that with. Given number of poles the rpm will be constant.  I don't remember the numbers, but those poles are all opposite each other.  In this starter they are not quite 90 degrees apart.  Don't know how this affects it, but i am gonna figure it out.  If I decide to rebuild the starter I will get new rpm numbers and post them.  Otherwise I have other fish to fry at the moment.

I'm sure you can find all sorts of uses for a gadget like that.  I may not see it again.
