Possibly moving to CA

So, i position has opened up in Irvine CA , and i applied for it today.
Anyone live out that way or know much about it?

Also, any suggestions on how to figure out how much a move costs and cost of living stuff?  I've found a few calculators online but i cant really tell if they are accurate.  One told me i need to make 50% more income just to break even !  I dont think i can negotiate that kind of raise.

cali is spendy. but better weather than Tx. lol We are moving to southern oregon right by the Cali border. So we are close to NOca but still have cheap living. when my shop is up and running all ROVers are welcome anytime!!

That's Orange county ,bud . Expensive as hell and traffic you would not believe. I left SO-cal in 1989  and  am glad to be out of it .
No offense to those still stuck in that swamp , but your welcome to it.  Try The Sacramento area , very nice and  much cheaper to live.
You can go online and find the local paper. look into rents /house prices for starters , Realtor .com will open your eyes too!

Never been a Cali fan. No offense to those there but too many people! i like my little Oregon towns. 500 or less and I am GOLDEN!

Of coarse I'm no Oregon fan either. We lived there for 3 years , 3 years too long. I was ready to slit my throat! I really like Arizona . Kingman is 39,000 population and is 40 miles from the next civilization  and 100 from Lost Wages. Phoenix is 175 and LA 330 , which suits me just fine.

I LOVE OREGON! Best of everything. Mountains, forest, desert, beach. Snow, sun, rain, hardly any tornados or hurricanes( knock on wood ). You just can't beat it. Best of all worlds.

i am thinkin a year. custom built to my specs on 3 ac in the middle of some of the best high desert riding anywhere. Thinkin of an ROV rally once or twice a year

I could probably enjoy the area east of bend , in the high desert. but in Stayton it rained 8 months of the year, I was ready to slit my throat!!! I get very depressed by  lack of sun. Don't get me started on the politics there!

i total understand! i am lookin at Christmas valley and Sprague river! both are 250-300 days of ridin weather a year
