Its difficult to tell what the carbs are. When I blow the pics up m they scale so large it like trying to use a spread sheet!  I think tiger is correct .

Red, I went and looked at the carbs I have and here is what I think you have: Pic 1 211526.jpg is an 82, Pic 2 211108.jpg is an 83. The confusion appears to start with Pic 2 211538.jpg which is an 82. This is what I have observed with the carbs I have, early 82's have no filter on front carb. Late 82's have the filter and the top half of front carb changed out to accomodate the filter. The rod to synchronize the carbs is on the left side of carbs on the 82 and on the right side of 83's. I'm not making absolute statements here but this what I've found on the Visions I have.      BDC

Ps Fuel pump and regulator on 82's is one assembly but two assemblies on the 83.

Thank you. I since pulled my post after looking at other posts on the subject and also some ebay pictures of 82 carbs and, from all that, I see mine are clearly 82's with the mod (does anyone ever change that small filter?). I see the drain tubes are mounted differently between the years and the intakes are different also.

Thanks again.
She is a slim and beautiful 82, so true, black and white and red all over!

My understanding of the small disc filter is that as long as you can blow through it freely you don't have to worry about it as it just provides atmospheric pressure to the carb.        BDC
